How to make the most of oval.co.nz

Best Value
Our aim at oval.co.nz is to bring the highest quality vehicles to the car auction market at the best costs. This means we offer no frills or service, just a great deal for car buyers. We've kept the costs down  - you need to decide if you want other services and organise them for yourself. Each car is sold as is where is.

1. oval.co.nz Auction Sheet

  • A translation of key information about vehicles being auctioned is available in the Vehicle Details Auction Sheet. This is where you will find specific info about the model such as year, fuel, body, kms, engine size.
  • You will also see some special features that relate just to that vehicle, eg. seats, wheels.
  • oval.co.nz do not list standard features that every car in the Make would have. If you want to find out this information go to the company website for that car brand, eg. VW, Toyota. These websites list features in detail and offer downloads for manuals.
  • The auction sheet also outlines any known body damage to the vehicle, where the damage is and the size of the damage. This will give you a very good idea of the appearance of the auction vehicle. This is an indication only and we recommend viewing or professional inspection.  oval.co.nz has no other details about the car.
  • We do not have a service for providing information over the phone or by email about vehicle details, you need to investigate this yourself.
  • Every Wednesday we offer viewing between 1pm and 5pm for the cars being auctioned that night. This is the only time that cars are available to view. You can test drive a vehicle using the short on-site circuit, or you can organise to have a mechanical check done. Inspections cannot be done once you have won an auction - you are now the owner. Please respect that other bidders have pre-inspected the vehicle prior to auction. If you are not bidding to own do not bid, please look for an alternative car buying process that suits the way you want to buy.

2. Taking Care of Your New Vehicle

  • oval.co.nz do not service the vehicles. We send the cars to be complied by VTNZ, who issue a Warrant of Fitness.
  • When you win an auction, pay for and pick-up your car, you need to take charge of it immediately. We provide a checklist that should be followed.
  • Your new car has not travelled any significant distance for 2 months. You need to check fluids immediately. You will probably need to replace the battery in the vehicle. The car will need a good groom or wash to look its best and make the paintwork shine up. And you will need to go straight to a petrol station to fill up with gas.

How It Works
This website is our showroom, and most of oval.co.nz vehicles are auctioned on TradeMe at $1 reserve.
