Protecting Your Car
oval.co.nz is an agent for Autosure Essential and Extreme Cover
Insurance.
Autosure Essential and Extreme Cover Insurance provides you with peace of
mind when you are on the road.
The Autosure policy covers your vehicle for all major mechanical,
electrical, and electronic components. And if a breakdown occurs away
from home you can rely on:
- 24 hour, 7 day a week roadside assistance.
- Up to 5 days(Essential) / 10days (Extreme) accommodation; or
- Up to 5 days(Essential) / 10days (Extreme) rental car hire costs; or
- Return home costs (such as air fares); or
- Repatriation costs for your vehicle to your home address or another convenient location, whichever is closer, up to $250(Essential)/ $500(Extreme).

Vehicles 16 years old and less that have travelled less than 225,000km for Essential or 2 years old and less that have travelled less than 150,000 kms for Extreme at the commencement of cover falling into the following categories:
A) Standard Vehicles:
Petrol powered vehicles other than those described in B & C and not listed in Excluded Vehicles
B) Special Category Vehicles:
- Turbo vehicles
- Diesel powered vehicles
- Supercharged Vehicles
- Hybrid vehicles
- Vehicles manufactured in the USA
- Mazda RX8
C) European Vehicles:
Diesel or Petrol powered vehicles manufactured in Europe including but not limited to: Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Citroen, Daimler, Fiat, Jaguar, Lancia, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, MG, Mini, Opel, Peugeot, Renault, Rover, Saab, Seat, Skoda, Vauxhall, Volvo and Volkswagon. |

You are required to keep your vehicle serviced at your cost to ensure the cover under this policy remains in place. You may have your vehicle serviced at any recognised Service Facility.
- Petrol powered vehicles must be serviced every 15,000km or 12 months.
- Diesel powered vehicles must be serviced every 10,000km or 12 months.
SERVICING REQUIREMENTS
The following must be checked and attended to as required:
- Change engine oil and oil filter;
- All fluid levels and condition;
- Air filter;
- All belts. Replace if necessary. Please note cambelts must be replaced as specified by the vehicle manufacturer;
- Cooling system including inhibitor and hoses;
- Turbo oil feed;
- Automatic transmission;
- Braking system including brake fluid condition;
- Air conditioning;
- Steering and suspension systems.
The cost of servicing is at your expense.

There is no cover for any of the following vehicles:
- GVM over 3500 KG;
- Over16 years old or have travelled more than 225,000kms for Essential or 12 years old or have travelled more than 150,000 kms for Extreme;
- Powered by rotary engines;
- Powered by engines with more than 8 cylinders;
- Modified in any way from the manufacturer’s standard specification;
- Manufactured by Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Jensen, Lamborghini, Lotus, Maserati, Porsche, Rolls Royce or TVR;
- BMW M3, M5 and M6 series, BMW 7 series or Mercedes-Benz AMG series;
- Used as taxis, rentals, courier vehicles, shuttles, any fare paying passenger vehicle or goods delivery vehicle. If your vehicle falls into this category a refund of premium will be made on request.

- Repairs that are covered by the manufacturers warranty or repairs that are the subject of a manufacturers recall or any component design fault or any damage arising from the design fault;
- Any fault existing at the commencement of cover and any resulting damage;
- Chassis, panel, paintwork, glass, upholstery and any other cosmetic item;
- Batteries, exhaust systems, catalytic converters, tyres, entertainment systems, global positioning systems, heated seat elements, light bulbs, communication systems, fuel tanks, air bag suspension, keys and remotes;
- Brake pads and shoes;
- Manual clutch and flywheels;
- Spark plugs, glow plugs, drive belts, lubricants, gas, filters, injector servicing and fluids;
- Any costs relating to servicing, maintenance, adjustment or tuning;
- Costs arising from the failure of the cambelt and/or any resulting damage when the cambelt is not replaced in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendation;
- Repairs necessitated by external causes, contamination, perishing, corrosion, rust, consequential loss or damage, accident damage, fire damage, water damage, theft, wilful damage, misuse, neglect, faulty repair and/or defective workmanship;
- Repairs necessitated by the failure of any plastic components due to gradual deterioration and any resulting damage;
- Repairs resulting from incorrect fuel, oil or coolant use;
- Any repairs commenced or carried out without our approval.
